Fuel Greasy Selvedge Jeans
Fuel's Greasy Selvedge denim jeans are a unique product. Fuel have used Selvedge denim mixed with Aramid fibres to achieve a light, comfortable fit and AA safety rating.
Before the 1950s, most fabrics - including denim - were made on shuttle looms. Shuttle looms produce tightly woven strips (typically one yard wide) of heavy fabric. The edge on these strips of fabric come finished with tightly woven bands running down each side that prevent fraying, ravelling, or curling. Because the edges come out of the loom finished, denim produced on shuttle looms are referred to as having a "self-edge," hence the name "Selvedge" denim.
Fuels jeans are crafted with both modern and vintage sewing machines combining the spirit of old times and the functionality and safety of today. Some of these manufacturing machines are 100 years old and make highly strong stitching giving Fuels goods a touch of longevity and durability.
The hip and knee protectors are from Polyanswer, a premium Portuguese manufacturer of CE protectors.
