WHAT IS SHOEI P.F.S. / PERSONAL FITTING SYSTEM?
Now we know we keep harping on about P.F.S but it really is one of the most innovative software’s to hit the motorcycle industry. The system is a concept pioneered by Shoei to enhance the comfort and safety of Shoei helmets, by providing a truly individual fit. We all know that the fit of the helmet is the most important thing, and P.F.S further adjusts the already outstanding fit of Shoei helmets to individual head shapes. This also means that we can adjust the fit for those who may not naturally fit the Shoei shape. All of this will enhance the comfort and safety of your Shoei helmet.
HOW DOES THE P.F.S. WORK?
Using specially developed computer software and a snazzy head measuring tool, Shoei P.F.S technicians (that’s us!) can accurately analyse a person’s head shape to identify their correct helmet size, and necessary liner adjustment positions. Using this data, a tailored fit can be achieved by fine-tuning the inner liner. The helmet is first provisionally fitted with special fitting pads. After a try-on and any necessary fine-tuning, the pads are finally fixed in place - so no turning back now! This is achieved by adding the suggested extra ‘hard’ or ‘soft’ liner pieces that is suggested on the computer. This, along with conversation with our lovely customer, will give us a helmet fit ready for those adventures!
HOW MUCH DOES P.F.S COST AND CAN I DO IT ON ANY HELMET?
P.F.S is only available for Shoei helmet I'm afraid. We wish it could be available for every helmet but for now, it's just Shoei Helmets. The recommended retail price for the fitting is £50. However, the actual costs depend on the time and material expenditure. If additional cheek pads are required on a helmet that is not new, this may incur additional charges for those cheek pads. If the helmet is new, we would swap these out free of charge as we would usually do in store. Each is case by case which we would work out when you are in store.
